Well dear reader, if you’ve made it through twelve panels of meme you’ll have no doubt figured out what’s afoot.

The Rumble has been a part of my life since 2015, written when the modern incarnation of our beloved Green Machine were but discussions between Sticky and his recruitment staff.

The last decade and a bit has been a mostly positive thing for the Milk, going from a club that oscillated between near-cellar-dweller and finals- filler to an outfit that can genuinely compete.

In that period we’ve seen a stack of players don the lime-green of Canberra, matched only by the near break-neck evolution of the game itself.

Dan has been super supportive over the years, taking the reins of the Rumble whenever life had other things in mind for me. When the Sportress launched all those years ago there were more of us writing, but our numbers were thinned as parenthood and other grown-up responsibilities came calling.

We’ve picked up others along the way, and I’m particularly proud of the partnership that Viv and I have established covering the NRLW side of things.

Apart from my life changes the other thing driving this decision is the change in the media/information environment around the Raiders and the NRL. Things move so quickly now and it sometimes feels futile to wait for the team lists before writing a piece that is mostly regurgitating the same guesswork and speculation week after week.

I’ll still be a part of the Sportress, dropping the odd bit about Raiders-related thoughts along with memes whenever I can find the time to craft them (the bastards keep ruining the mobile software that used to make it oh so easy).

In the meantime I want you all to keep reading everything Dan pumps out, as he really is one of the best rugby league brains when it comes to putting sentences together. Viv and I better start planning for the NRLW in July.
